RIYADH: Courts in four major Saudi cities looked into a total of 8,031 divorce applications last year, 1,286 of which were reconciled, the daily Al-Jazirah reported yesterday. There were 5,923 requests for divorce in Riyadh alone, with 678 ending through reconciliation; 1,001 in Jeddah, with 210 reconciled; 905 in Makkah, with 269 reconciled; and 202 in Madinah, with 129 reconciled.
