MAKKAH: An engineering student was arrested yesterday for his suspected involvement in the murder of a classmate in Makkah’s Aziziah district, according to a police spokesman.
Investigators made the arrest after finding the dead body of a student of the Jeddah College of Technology in a car on Abdullah Al-Khayyat Street on Thursday.
The victim had suffered gunshot wounds to his head and torso.
“The engineering student is suspected of having killed his 25-year-old classmate because police found the murder weapon in his possession,” police spokesman Maj. Zaki Al-Rihaili said yesterday.
“The car in which the body was found was parked close to the arrested man’s house. The preliminary conclusion is that the youth was shot after being beaten up,” Al-Rihaili said.
