JEDDAH — For the third trading session this week, the BMG Saudi Index increased 0.4 percent to 454.4 points. The total turnover moved up by 38.7 percent to SR2 billion ($523 million) versus SR1.4 billion ($377 million) registered on Monday.
Three sectors witnessed gains, whereas two declined. The industrial sector increased by 0.9 percent, while the telecommunication and insurance sectors went up by 0.2 percent. On the other hand, the banking sector decreased by 0.3 percent and the services sector declined by 1.2 percent.
Eight shares went up, while 14 went down, and eight stood still. The best performer was Allied Cooperative Insurance Group ascending by 3.1 percent to SR75. For the second successive trading session, the National Metal Manufacturing and Casting Co. kept its position as the worst performer, falling by 4.3 percent to reach SR66.
The leading shares experienced different performances with Al-Rajhi Bank’s share price depreciating by 0.3 percent to SR80.75, and Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC’s) share price going up by 2.3 percent to SR123.
