SHARJAH: Sharjah’s Ramadan Festival will run for 37 days and the sponsors have allocated a 20-million-dirham budget for this year’s celebrations, the higher committee of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival announced recently.

The festival is considered an image-enhancing and marketing event for Sharjah. It will feature social, cultural, religious, sports, environmental and heritage activities.

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) will coordinate with local government departments to successfully organize this year’s edition.

“The festival organizers fully understand the private sector’s crucial role in accelerating economic development and have thus oriented this year’s festival to harmonize the efforts of various government agencies in this direction,” said Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
