RIYADH: Saudi business leaders and potential investors in the region are being invited by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) of Taiwan, ROC, to attend the “2008 Taiwan Business Alliance Conference” in Taipei on Oct. 6-8.
Online registration for the event, whose theme will be “New Taiwan. New Opportunities,” can be made by visiting http://investintaiwan.nat.gov.tw/en/. The MOEA is expecting 600 participants that include business leaders, potential investors and company representatives from all over the world. Tan-Hsing Yin, economic counselor at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office here, said that President Ma Ying-jeou will be delivering the opening remarks at the opening of the conference at the Taipei International Convention Center. He will also present the “Best Investment Partner Awards”.
The 1st Economic Forum will present “Global Investment Perspectives & Taiwan’s Emerging Opportunities” with Vice President Vincent C. Siew as keynote speaker. Another keynote speaker will be a CEO of a multinational company.
The 2nd Economic Forum will present “Leverage Cross-Strait Resources for Global Markets”, with Dr. P.K. Chiang, chairman of Straits Foundation, as moderator. Panelists will come from China, the United States, Japan and Europe.
English will be the language of the proceedings with simultaneous translations into Japanese and Chinese.
Dr. Shih Yen-Shiang, administrative vice minister of Economic Affairs, will be the host.
