AL-JOUF: A Saudi man was arrested on charges of murdering a 23-year-old Saudi youth in Zaloum town in Al-Jouf province on Tuesday night. He was also charged with assaulting the victim’s parents, who were hospitalized for stab wounds.
“The Saudi youth died instantly as a result of stab wounds on his neck. The 43-year-old attacker stabbed the youth following a dispute between the two, said Col. Sonaitan Al-Daraan, acting spokesman for Al-Jouf police.
He said that the suspect was repairing his car at a place close to the building where the youth lived when they started to quarrel.
The quarrel soon degenerated into a scuffle during which the man attacked the young Saudi with a knife.
On seeing their son being stabbed the youth’s parents rushed to stop the man who also attacked them with the knife.
The suspect was hiding at a nearby house after the incident when he was arrested by the police, the Al-Jouf police spokesman said.
