One of the latest gift-giving hypes is named Kookielicious, which combines two traditional gifts — flowers and cookies — and turns them into one deliciously clever concept, the cookie bouquet.
Mostly, Kookielicious baked goodies come out of its founder’s kitchen in beautiful, tasty condition, looking like anything but a plain cookie. Kindah Sais of Jeddah has introduced a new concept in baking cookies.
She was inspired by a store that she visited often as a child while in the United States. “Close to the place I lived was a store that retailed cookies. Since then I dreamt of launching my own cookies baked in a new concept,” Kindah told Arab News.
In fact, she makes a wonderful world of cookies shaped like flowers, babies, shoes, bags, stars, moons and so on.
Kindah, who also designs oriental clothing for a fashion group during her spare time, says cookies hold the joy of life. “The smell of baking cookies conjures up childhood memories, soothes the tired and makes one’s mouth water. Freshly baked cookies transform an ordinary dessert into a treat. Sending a delicious cookie basket or a cookie bouquet brightens up anyone’s day. When you receive your first cookie bouquet, you discover one of the secrets about gift giving,” Kindah says.
Flowers, chocolates and dates make great gifts for those dear to our hearts. However, all other occasions and the rest of the people in our lives deserve a gift that leaves a lasting impression.
Every occasion calls for cookie bouquets. Ramadan, Eid-Al-Fitr, Eid-Al-Adha, Mothers’ Day, Earth Day, birthday and even National Day are great occasions to share your friendship with a bouquet. Traditional occasions such as a new baby, wedding, or even when visiting a sick relative or friend are also the occasions when people take recourse to the Kookielicious website and Facebook group, she says.
“My vision is to make and offer creative cookies for every occasion,” she said, adding cookies are a classic product that captures love, friendship and caring in a way that few products can. “Combine this with the personal touch and the level of service that Kookielicious provides when designing and delivering their products, and you have a recipe for an enduring concept.”
“I have come up with this new idea of giving gifts at a time when gifts of sweets, chocolates, dates, flowers, etc., have become too common. A cookie bouquet can set a new trend,” she says.
