From the design house David Wiener Ventures (DWV) comes the Art.Suono Wireless Music Transmission System and iPod Dock. Art.Suono’s proprietary wireless transmission technology allows users to transmit any audio source — including iPods, computers, CD players, MP3 players and satellite radio — to any audio system. The Art.Suono incorporates acoustic technology developed for the recording industry to restore the harmonics lost in compressed music files and to give a sense of spaciousness and clarity so each instrument and voice is clear and distinct. At the same time, it optimizes bass frequency response, providing deeper, more resonant bass with the fullness, richness and depth that makes any audio system sound more powerful.
Additional features include docking and charging for any model iPod, an “Engine Start” button, a “Shift” input signal switch, a concealed input signal jack, LED indicators and a convenient volume control. Weighing five pounds and constructed of aluminum and carbon fiber, the system includes an Art.Suono receiver, also in machined aluminum. The system becomes available in October priced at $1,499.

Lenovo does servers
Lenovo has entered the server market worldwide with its new ThinkServer line targeting small and medium businesses. ThinkServers are complemented by easy-to-use management software and a 90-day trial of ThinkPlus Priority Support to help customers acclimate to their new server environment. Lenovo is also extending its commitment to business partners by offering the full ThinkServer line as well as service and support through its established channel network.
Lenovo is launching three towers and two rack x86 servers, providing a scalable offering to fit the varying needs of businesses ranging in size from one to 500 employees. The ThinkServer family is available with Microsoft Windows Server or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. The ThinkServer TS100 Tower and RS110 Rack servers are equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo or Xeon 3000 or 3200 processors and are targeted for small offices utilizing simple applications or for use as Web servers. The ThinkServer TD100 Tower, TD100x Tower or RD120 Rack servers are equipped with Intel Xeon 3000 or 5000 processors and are ideal for medium-sized businesses that require additional capabilities such as database applications or virtualization.
Industry’s smallest thin client
Devon IT, Inc. has launched its PC alternative, the ultra-small TC2 thin client terminal. Starting at $189, the TC2 is VDI, Xen, and RDP-capable. It stands less than six inches in height and five inches in length and consumes 8-9 watts on average, compared to nearly 150 watts used by PCs. It is VESA-mountable to maximize desktop space. The TC2 is available with the Devon Terminal Operating System (DeTOS), which provides the latest multimedia and web browsing capabilities and contains extensive device support.
