JEDDAH: The Saudi art community lost on Wednesday senior singer Mohammed Al-Sarraj. He died after suffering a prolonged illness. The singer spent a lot of time under the supervision of doctors due to cirrhosis, a chronic disease of the liver marked by degeneration of cells, inflammation and fibrous thickening of tissue. Al-Sarraj was one of the most important singers during the seventies and he achieved great success while competing with a number of great singing artists. Al-Sarraj was buried yesterday afternoon in Al-Faisaliya cemetery in Jeddah. His family members are receiving condolences at their home in Heraa Street.
