TAIF: The only Saudi play to be performed at the 11-day International Biennale Theater Festival in Morocco has been hailed as a great success and is now scheduled to be performed in several Moroccan cities including Casablanca and Meknas. The play — Halah Qalaq (State of Anxiety) — was staged at the festival at the Muhammad VI National Theater in Rabat. Abdul Latif Al-Minsawi, director of the theater, rated the play as the best drama from Saudi Arabia. “I was deeply impressed by the drama when I first saw it at the Fourth Saudi Drama Festival in Riyadh. I then hoped for it to be staged in Morocco. Now I am very much delighted for inviting it to the Biennale Festival‚” he said. The festival honored a number of Arab and International theater pioneers including Saudi actor Ahmad Al-Hadhil. Ahmad Al-Ahmari directed Halah Qalaq for the Culture and Art Society of Taif.
