CAIRO: Top Lebanese pop folk artist Nancy Nabil Ajram is in the family way. Despite pregnancy, Ajram is fulfilling her commitments. Yesterday, she said at a press conference in Cairo that she would be the promoter for a new cell phone in the Middle East. Ajram married Lebanese dentist Fadi El-Hashem in September. The crooner had earlier denied she would take time off from her music career due to pregnancy. Born in 1983, Ajram is one of the most recognizable young superstars of the Arab world. By 2007, she sold over 30 million records ranking her as the third best-selling pop starlets in the history of Lebanon. Nancy said although her pregnancy was a little painful, that won’t stop her from performing for her fans. She added that she would sing “until the last day of my life.” Nancy has also denied rumors about her plans to go to the US in order to give birth so that her child would have American citizenship.
