JEDDAH: The Directorate of Health Affairs in Jeddah yesterday closed down six pharmacies across the city for not having up-to-date licenses.
Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Jawad, assistant director of health affairs for the private sector, said the pharmacies were identified in sporadic inspections. He did not identify the pharmacies or say where they were located.
Abdul Jawad asked all pharmacies to adhere to rules and regulations.
He added that inspections would continue and that violating pharmacists would be punished.
Director of Health Affairs in Jeddah Dr. Sami bin Muhammad Badoud underlined the importance of honoring rules and regulations issued by the Ministry of Health.
He said procedures to issue licenses were easy and that applicants could obtain licenses in a very short period of time.
