SHARJAH: Police have refused to divulge details surrounding the murder of a Russian businessman whose body was found abandoned in a car park on Friday.
The man had been struck over the head with a blunt object; police suspect this was the cause of his death. Sources from the Russian Consulate identified the man as Karpov Yevgeni, age 51. According to sources, Yevgeni owned a cargo company.
Sources from Sharjah police said that passersby telephoned police about a man slumped over the steering wheel of a car in the Bank Street area. Yevgeni’s wife had reported him missing. Sources added that a number of vehicles owned by Yevgeni were also missing.
