JEDDAH: More than 1,000 Thai and other residents of the Western Province took part in the “Songkran” Water Festival and Charity Bazaar held at the residence of Thai Consul General Praphat Chantaharn to raise funds for the Thailand Non-formal and Informal Education Learning Center, a nonprofit organization, over the weekend.
The festival also marked the Thai New Year Day. A variety of delicious Thai dishes were offered for sale by Thai restaurants and members of the Thai community whose proceeds were donated to the charity.
Thai students and parents staged cultural shows, which also included a singing contest.
