DOHA: Qatar’s Commerce Minister Sheikh Fahd bin Jassem bin Mohammed Al-Thani has been killed in a car accident, report said yesterday.
The local daily Ash-Sharq said the accident happened late Thursday when an SUV Land Cruiser coming from the opposite direction collided with Sheikh Fahd’s vehicle.
The minister died instantly and a fellow passenger was hospitalized, the newspaper said.
Sheikh Fahd took office last July when Qatar’s emir enlarged the government by creating new ministries for the gas-rich country.
