MUMBAI: In an act of anger by Muslim community in Mumbai, Abbas Kazmi, the defense lawyer representing the lone Mumbai terror attacks alleged terrorist Ajmal Amir Qasab, was sacked from the board of trustees of the prestigious Islam Gymkhana institution situated in Mumbai, according to reliable sources.
This is the second time during the last one month that Kazmi has been targeted by the Muslim community for defending Qasab.
A few days ago, a letter sent to Kazmi on behalf of the Islam Gymkhana stated that the Islam (religion) was against terrorism and is against defenders of terrorists and terrorism.
Kazmi vented his anger in very strong terms and protested against the Islamic Gymkhana decision.
“All this is a political drama. Gymkhana is not Muslim but a members group,” Kazmi said.
