JEDDAH: An automobile leader on Monday highlighted the high and increasing demand for new car models. “The people are now increasingly looking for durability as well as enhanced safety and environmentally-friendly features in the latest cars,” Ali Husein Alireza, general manager at Haji Husein Alireza & Co. Ltd., said at the unveiling ceremony of the all-new Mazda CX-7 at the Lailaty Hall.

Japanese Consul General Toshimitsu Ishigure, who was the chief guest, described the new family car as a “Marvel from Japan.” Hiroshima-based Mazda Motor Corporation’s (MMC) top executives — Keizo Okue, GM, MEA sales, and Masashi Otsuka, program manager, presented the car’s new features that include turbo engine, five-seat capacity and rear-view camera.

“Following the successful launch of its Zoom-Zoom concept, the MMC introduced a number of great cars that had great demand in the Saudi and international market. Today, Mazda launches its all-new masterpiece SUV car model Mazda CX-7,” Alireza added.

“In view of the Kingdom’s strong economy and our collaboration with MMC over the decades, we achieved excellent sales that exceeded our expectations. This is because of MMC’s offer of excellent and durable models and a great after-sales service at a high level of professionalism and at reasonable and affordable rates,” Alireza said.

The new car represents the latest engineering innovation produced by Mazda engineers, and designed to meet the market needs. It targets youth and families. “It is based on the concept of creating a sport crossover SUV — a vehicle in which the great attributes of a sports car are blended with those of an SUV,” said Otsuka.

Extensive market research shows that the CX-7 is considered strong in terms of design, handling, and driving performance — all attributes with which Mazda consistently excels, Okue said.
