Marcus Morris and Craig Alerich each had double-doubles for the Jayhawks (24-1, 10-0), who hold a commanding three-game lead with six games to go and seem virtually assured of their seventh consecutive Big 12 championship.

It was also their 56th straight victory at home, the second-longest in school history and just four shy of the record set during the Roy Williams era.

Craig Brackins, who once scored 42 against Kansas, had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Iowa State (13-12, 2-9).

No. 3 Kentucky 73  No. 12 Tennessee 62: In Lexington, Ky., John Wall had 24 points—one short of his career high — and Eric Bledsoe added 16 for Kentucky.

Down 52-50 midway through the second half after a three-point play by J.P. Prince, Kentucky (24-1, 9-1) scored the next 10 points to give John Calipari his first win over Bruce Pearl in a Southeastern Conference matchup. The two met annually when Calipari coached at Memphis.

Bledsoe, Kentucky’s other freshman backcourt star, clinched the victory with three clutch shots in a row: a fastbreak layup followed by two 3-pointers.

Bobby Maze led the Vols (18-6, 6-4) with 15 points. Melvin Goins had a career-high 14.

No. 4 Villanova 92 Providence 81: In Philadelphia,  Scottie Reynolds and Corey Fisher scored 22 points each to help Villanova (22-2, 11-1 Big East) move into a tie with Syracuse atop the Big East.

Providence (12-13, 4-9) had its second win over a Top 25 team in sight until two costly fouls were called on Sharaud Curry with 8 minutes left. Curry fouled Reynolds and snapped at the referee—a personal and a technical that gave him five fouls and sent Reynolds to the line for four shots. Reynolds made three for a 67-60 lead.

Curry scored 19 points for the Friars before fouling out.

No. 6 Purdue 63 Iowa 40: In West Lafayette, Ind., JaJuan Johnson had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Purdue won its seventh straight.

E’Twaun Moore added 11 points for the Boilermakers (21-3, 9-3 Big Ten).

Cully Payne scored 11 points and Jarryd Cole had 10 for the Hawkeyes (9-17, 3-10). Matt Gatens, Iowa’s top scorer this season, finished with three points on 1-of-10 shooting.

No. 8 Duke 77 Maryland 56: In Durham, N.C. , Jon Scheyer scored 22 points and Duke marked coach Mike Krzyzewski’s 1,000th game at the school on his 63rd birthday.

Brian Zoubek had 16 points and 17 rebounds for the first-place Blue Devils (21-4, 9-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).

Greivis Vasquez scored 17 points for the Terps (16-7, 6-3), who finished 25 points below their season average and were 2 of 13 from 3-point range.

Krzyzewski is 781-219 in 30 seasons at Duke.

No. 9 Kansas St. 68  Colorado 51: In Manhattan, Kan., Jacob Pullen had 15 points and 10 assists, and the Wildcats (20-4, 7-3 Big 12) won their ninth straight over Colorado (11-13, 2-8).

Curtis Kelly had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Jamar Samuels added 12 points to give Kansas State 20 wins in four straight seasons for the first time.

Alec Burks had 21 points and Cory Higgins added 17 for Colorado, which has lost 26 straight road games against Division I teams and seven of eight overall.

No. 10 Michigan St. 65 Penn St. 54: In State College, Pa., Kalin Lucas returned to the starting lineup and scored 24 points as Michigan State ended a three-game losing streak.

Durrell Summers and Delvon Roe scored all the points in a 13-0 second-half run that gave the Spartans (20-6, 10-3 Big Ten) a 57-46 lead.

Lucas didn’t look like he was hobbled by the heavily wrapped right ankle he sprained Feb. 2. He missed one game, then came off the bench in a 76-64 loss to No. 6 Purdue on Tuesday.

Talor Battle had 30 points on 7-of-11 shooting from long range for Penn State (8-16, 0-12).

No. 11 Wisconsin 83 Indiana 55: In Madison,Wis., Jason Bohannon had seven 3-pointers and a career-high 30 points to help Wisconsin rebound from a surprising home loss.

Trevon Hughes added 16 points and Wisconsin (19-6, 9-4 Big Ten) showed no lingering effects after a loss to Illinois on Tuesday, their first after 51 straight wins against unranked conference foes at home under coach Bo Ryan.

Christian Watford scored 15 points for Indiana (9-15, 3-9), which had 21 turnovers in its sixth straight loss.

No. 14 Texas 91 Nebraska 51: In Austin, Texas, Avery Bradley scored 20 points as the Longhorns shot 61 percent in the first half against the Big 12’s stingiest scoring defense.

Bradley, who finished 6 of 7 from 3-point range, made five in the first half as Texas built a 53-26 lead. The Longhorns outscored the Cornhuskers 22-4 over the final 6 minutes of the half.

Bradley finished with 25 points for Texas (20-5, 6-4), which ended a two-game skid to reach 20 wins for the 11th straight season.

Ryan Anderson scored nine points for Nebraska (13-12, 1-9), which has lost four straight.

No. 15 New Mexico 68  Utah 65, OT: In Salt Lake City, Roman Martinez scored 15 points, including a tie-breaking 3-pointer late in overtime to lead New Mexico to its ninth straight victory.

Dairese Gary scored 19 and Darington Hobson finished with 11 assists, 10 rebounds and eight points for the Lobos (23-3, 9-2 Mountain West).

New Mexico led most of the game but couldn’t put away from the Utes (11-13, 4-6) until overtime. It was only the Lobos’ second win in their last 21 visits to Utah.

Marshall Henderson scored 21 and Carlon Brown had 18 points for Utah, including a 3-pointer to tie it at 60 with about 2 seconds left in regulation.

No. 16 Gonzaga 82  San Diego 65: In Spokane, Wash., Steven Gray scored 19 points, Matt Bouldin added 16 and Gonzaga remained in first place in the West Coast Conference.

Reserve Manny Arop added a career-high 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Gonzaga (21-4, 9-1 WCC), which had four players in double figures.

San Diego (9-17, 2-9) has lost nine of its past 10 games and is in the WCC cellar. Leading scorer Brandon Johnson, hobbled by a groin injury, came off the bench to score 21 points and become the all-time leading scorer for the Toreros.

No. 17 BYU 91 Air Force 48: In Provo,  Utah, Senior forward Jonathan Tavernari came off the bench to score a season-high 19 points and Jackson Emery added 18 to lead BYU.

Tavernari hit five consecutive 3-pointers and scored 17 points during a decisive 28-5 run midway through the first half.

The win was the 20th straight at home for BYU (23-3, 8-2) and it moved the Cougars into a first-place tie in the Mountain West Conference with No. 15 New Mexico.

Mike Fitzgerald scored 13 points to lead Air Force (9-15, 1-10), which lost its 10th straight to BYU and the 15th in a row on the road in conference play.

No. 18 Butler 70, Cleveland St. 59: In Cleveland, Matt Howard and Gordon Hayward had double-doubles and Butler extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 15 games.

The Bulldogs (23-4, 16-0) tied the school record for consecutive wins set in 1999-2000 and matched the best start in Horizon League conference play set by Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1995-96.

Howard had 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Hayward added 19 points and 11 rebounds as they outrebounded the Vikings by themselves, 24-20.

D’Aundray Brown scored 14 points for Cleveland State (13-13, 9-5), which had a six-game winning streak snapped and lost for the first time in 15 conference home games.

Bradley 68  No. 19 Northern Iowa 59: In Peoria, Ill., Andrew Warren scored 15 points and Bradley rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to keep Northern Iowa from winning its first outright Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship.

Chris Roberts scored 13 points for the Braves (13-12, 8-7), while Taylor Brown and Will Egolf both had 12.

Wake Forest 75, No. 20 Georgia Tech 64: In Winston, Salem, N.C., Al-Farouq Aminu had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Wake Forest moved into sole possession of second place in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Ishmael Smith had the clinching hoop with just over a minute left and surpassed 1,000 career points for the surging Demon Deacons (18-5, 8-3), who won their fourth straight. Smith had 10 points, eight assists and six rebounds as Wake Forest moved within a game of league-leader Duke.
