- JEDDAH: The issue of 20 Pakistanis who have been in jail since last year awaiting trial for forgery “is in the hands of the Saudi government,” said the Pakistani Consulate Sunday.
- “We have been in contact with the Foreign Ministry about them, but we cannot do anything except to provide whatever is needed for the (Saudi) legal process,” said a consulate official.
The National Society of Human Rights recently said it would try to arrange for the men to be tried. The Pakistanis were arrested a year ago at King Abdul Aziz International Airport for attempting to travel on forged passports.
