- LONDON - British prosecutors say the wife of a man convicted of plotting to kill thousands by bombing trans-Atlantic airliners was aware of his plans but failed to alert authorities.
- Prosecutor Richard Whittam told the Inner London Crown Court on Tuesday that Cossor Ali, 28, supported her husband's attempts to target passengers on at least seven jetliners in a terrorist plot thwarted in 2006.
In September, Abdulla Ahmed Ali - the plot's alleged ringleader - was convicted of attempting to bomb airliners bound for the US and Canada and jailed for at least 40 years. The plot prompted a ban on taking some liquids onto planes, inconveniencing passengers across the world.
Cossor Ali denies failing to disclose information about her husband's terrorism plans.
