- RIYADH: Saudi Arabia Tuesday denied press reports that Prince Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior, had discussed prospects of arranging an Algerian-Egyptian-Saudi summit in Riyadh when he met with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika recently.
A Saudi spokesman also denied press reports that the prince's talks had covered the topic of exporting Egypt's share of natural gas, the Saudi Press Agency said.
"Prince Naif's meeting with the Algerian president was a private one during which he conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan to the president," the spokesman said and underscored the strong Saudi-Algerian ties.
