School principal K.M. Mohammed inaugurated the book fair in the presence of sales manager Ejaz Ahmed Bukhari of publishers Pioneer House, which helped organize the event.

Speaking at the function, Mohammed said the aim of the fair was to instill a strong reading habit in children and drive home the importance of books in the lives of students.

Making reading a part of their daily regimen is important because a good reader will be a high achiever, he said.

He added that children should start developing reading skills and a love of books at a very early age.

“Being naturally curious, they have many questions that need to be answered. Parents are unable to fulfill this key requirement of their children’s mental development due to their own busy schedules,” Mohammed said.
