Twenty-two other passengers were injured in the accident that occurred late Friday in the outskirts of Tabuk town in the northern province of Kalinga, the report said.

Police investigators said the truck was carrying at least 70 people who were on their way to visit a faith healer in the village of Calanan.

The truck was negotiating a sharp curve in the village of Bulanao when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The injured passengers were being treated at a local hospital. Police were still determining the cause of the accident.
