- JEDDAH: The Mawhiba competition for science and technology for 2010 will continue at Dar Al-Fiker Schools in Jeddah before moving on in two weeks to Tabuk and Madinah.
The Foundation of King Abdul Aziz and His Companions are organizing the competition for boy and girls between 14 and 18 years of age. The winners will be announced in Riyadh and will represent Saudi Arabia at the Intel International Exhibition to be held in San Jose, California May 9-14.
The competition, which started on Dec. 24, was held for four consecutive weeks in Asir, Alkhobar, Ahsa and Riyadh. A total of 60 individual and group projects have so far qualified. The Mawhiba exhibition in science and technology is aimed at encouraging students who are gifted in these two subjects. It is also meant to enable these students to gain international expertise.
