“Consultants in general medicine, ophthalmology, ENT and care participated in the voluntary service,” said the society’s Secretary-General Dr. Ali Al-Fakieh, a consultant of family and social medicine at King Abdul Aziz University Hospital.

The beneficiaries were treated for a range of medical conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure and diseases of the abdomen, chest, eye, teeth, nose, ear and throat.

“Medical caravans with volunteers will be operating year-round to extend free medical assistance to the poor in Makkah province,” said Fakieh.

It also undertakes awareness activities about health issues.
