They join waiting finalists Al Areesh and D’ Barkads in the championship round which gets going on Thursday.

In the  stepladder first match the No. 3, 4, and 5 teams namely Pacific Storm, Cannon Balls and Parachutte knock each other out for the right  to  meet the No. 2 finisher, D’ Barkads,  in another knockout match that will then determine the challenger of the No. 1 team, Al Areesh,  for the championship crown. Al Areesh enjoys a twice to beat edge.

Pacific Storm poured on the heat in the third game to be the highest series scorer among the three qualifiers at 3,033 pinfalls with handicap.

Pacif Storm carded lines of 997, 975 and 1,061.

Cannon Balls, in sixth place at the start of the repechage, came in a second at 3,018 on games of 1,020, 1,070 and 928, while Parachutte tallied 3,015 (1,052, 936 and 1,027) at third position.

Boleros, the last Team of the Week winner in this five-man team league event, missed the magic three and rendered meaningless their fifth-place standing prior to the knockout round. They tallied 2,889 total pinfalls with handicap in fourth and a notch behind Parachutte.

Hadi Pacheco was consistent all night long, hitting 192, 223 and 230 on the way to the top score of 69 for Pacific Storm, which had been the early toast of the event. Ray Thompson, Bher del Rosario and Abet Durado fired 624, 570 and 567 in support of Pacheco, while Toto Lim and Gary Misa likewise made valuable contributions of 199 and 179-193.

Cannon Balls profited immensely from the trio of Ed Cordova, Joel Nidoy and Jack Jarin who compiled rounds of 645, 628 and 602. Hassan Halwani added 193-185 and Ferdie Coloma 180-179.

Leading Parachutte to the next stage of the tournament was Ruel Santoc who made 613. Bonnie Garcia at 605 and James Galvan at 539 were the  other players to do full games at Parachutte. The other contributors were Rudy Valenzuela 175-190, Dennis Alvarado 242-233 and Jun Estefano 185-181.
