US sets preliminary duties on bricks from China

WASHINGTON: The United States on Thursday set preliminary anti-dumping duties ranging from 133 percent to 349 percent on certain bricks made in China that it said were sold at less than fair value.

The United States imported about $50.7 million of the magnesia carbon bricks from China in 2008. They are used primarily in furnaces for the production of iron and steel.
