- NEW YORK: Kidnapping victim Jaycee Dugard, held captive for 18 years in a ramshackle backyard compound, is seen cooking with her sister and mother and riding horses in recently shot home videos set to air on ABC Friday.
The appearance by Dugard, 29, represents the first time she will be seen and heard on video since she resurfaced six months ago after being kidnapped outside her South Lake Tahoe, Calif. home in 1991.
Photographs of Dugard, her mother, Terry Probyn, and her half-sister, Shayna, were published in People magazine in October, along with a statement from Dugard saying that she was happy to be back with her family. ABC plans to play excerpts from their home videos on Friday during "Good Morning America," "20/20" and "Nightline."
Dugard "introduces herself to the world" in the footage, while her mother "breaks her silence to plead for privacy and time to heal," according to the network.
