Anders Fogh Rasmussen also praised Jordan's offer to train Afghan security forces, saying a deal will soon be concluded.

Rasmussen said Sunday that NATO forces will remain in Afghanistan for “as long as it takes to secure the country.” He spoke briefly about the Mideast peace process, saying the Arab-Israeli conflict fuels other regional crises and feeds terrorism. He did not elaborate.

Rasmussen in on his first visit to Jordan. He met with King Abdullah II and other top officials.
