- JEDDAH: Mansour bin Saleh Alsafi, Saudi Arabia’s new ambassador to Afghanistan, presented his diplomatic credentials to President Hamid Karzai on Sunday at a ceremony in Kabul attended by Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Zalmai Rasoul.
Following the ceremony, Karzai discussed several issues of mutual interest and bilateral relations with the ambassador. Alsafi said he was happy to be posted in Afghanistan at such an important time and pledged every effort to improve bilateral relations.
Karzai underlined the “very important and effective” role Saudi Arabia can play in resolving regional problems.
