- KATMANDU: Close aides say Nepal's five-time prime minister and most prominent politician who led a mass protest that brought down king's authoritarian rule has died.
Girija Prasad Koirala died Saturday at his daughter's house in Katmandu. He has spent the past few days in hospital before being brought there earlier this week.
Koirala's close aide and parliament member Bal Krishna Khad confirmed the death to reporters and thousands of supporters who had gathered outside the house.
