- JUBAIL: A member of the Jubail Municipal Council is facing two counts of assault, the daily Al-Yaum reported on Saturday.
- The name of the councilman was not published.
Both assault charges stem from a dispute between the councilman and his brother over rental proceeds from several apartment properties.
The first charge came when the councilman was accused of sending a man working for his brother to hospital after severe beating. The councilman reportedly attacked the man who demanded on behalf of the brother that the properties be divided between them.
The councilman was under a court order to give the court the rental revenue so that it could divide the money equally between the two brothers.
But when a court representative went to the properties to tally the renters, the councilman allegedly attacked him. A police unit arrested the council member after investigating the incident.
