Al-Turki’s statement comes after police in the Kingdom’s capital reported that they had foiled a kidnapping attempt last week.

The case came to the attention of the authorities when the victim’s wife and a relative went to Al-Batha police station and reported the case.

The woman told the police that she had received a call from the kidnappers and demanding SR17,000 for the release of her husband.

Police were able to identify the two culprits. One of the kidnappers was a Bangladeshi man. Police said they found forged documents, including iqamas and a Saudi national ID, in the possession of the kidnappers.

Both culprits reportedly confessed to the crime.
