- Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of the Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Edinburgh in a ceremony at the Signet Library, Parliament Square.
The degree was conferred by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who is chancellor of the university. Alwaleed was accompanied by a delegation from Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation and the Kingdom Holding Company. Alwaleed and Prince Philip also inaugurated the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Centre for the Study of Islam at Edinburgh University. (AN photo)
