The meeting will be chaired by Abdullah bin Abdulmuhsin Al-Turki, secretary-general of the Muslim World League, in the presence of 200 IIROSA members, as well as scholars, ministers and businessmen. Among notable people who will attend the meeting are Saleh Al-Hussein, president-general of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and member of the Council of Senior Scholars; Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, secretary-general of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC); and Ahmed Mohammed Ali, president of the Islamic Development Bank.

IIROSA Secretary-General Adnan Khalil Basha announced that members of the General Assembly would arrive from all over the world, including Morocco, Yemen, Thailand, Nigeria, India, Kenya and Uganda.

Basha stated that the IIROSA General Assembly would discuss several issues including the final accounts of the fiscal year, the nominations of members for the General Assembly and the appointment of new members of the IIROSA Board of Directors.

Basha said the presence of the OIC secretary-general would enrich discussion and leave no room for doubts about the prominent position of the IIROSA.

Basha highlighted IIROSA's close relations with international organizations such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East and the World Health Organization.

Responding to a question at a press conference in Jeddah on Sunday about the possibility of cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Basha said the IIROSA welcomes the idea for the benefit of tens of thousands of poor and needy people.

According to Basha, the IIROSA is conducting several health and water projects in several countries throughout the world and that it is possible to partner up with UNIDO, taking into consideration that UNIDO enjoys huge capabilities in terms of data collection and accurate statistics about the extent of environmental damage.

Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal has said that the IIROSA is seeking to contribute to improving the environment in Makkah and to modernizing this holy city.
