- RIYADH: The Saudi Shoura Council website has been picked the best website for Parliaments among the member countries of Arab League for 2009.
The Arab Organization for Administrative Development, a subsidiary of the Arab League, made the selection. The organization will be holding an awards function where winners of various disciplines would be feted, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
The Shoura Council is currently implementing an e-governance project in line with a decision of the Council of Ministers to introduce e-governance in the Kingdom.
The project aims to create a standardized electronic environment inside the council that will enable its members to work in a unified environment in addition to simplify interaction between the council and the public.
With these picks, the league aims at evaluating the efforts made by the member countries to provide services and supplying information to the people.
