“The actual episode will be broadcast from Jeddah with some reports from Jerusalem and places outside it. There are many surprises in this episode,” said the channel’s manager, Mohammad Sallam.

Al-Areefi had told viewers in the previous episode that the next edition of his TV show, “Dae Basamatak” (Leave Your Imprint), would be broadcast from Jerusalem.

However, Al-Areefi has been in Riyadh since Friday and not in Jordan as has been reported, said Sallam. He expressed his surprise over news reports and criticized the media for sensationalizing the issue.

“What has been reported is from the Internet and not true. People will discover all of this in the episode that is to be aired on Friday at 10:30 p.m.,” he said.

According to the channel’s website, Al-Areefi told viewers on March 26 that the next episode of his show will be filmed in Jerusalem, and it is his goal to support the city and its people and prevent the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The local and international media have been carrying news claiming that Al-Areefi will be in Jerusalem for his next episode.

If Al-Areefi travels to Jerusalem, he would be breaking a Saudi ban on its citizens traveling to Israel and the occupied territories.

Speaking to Al-Watan newspaper on Wednesday, Brig. Gen. Badr Malek, official spokesman for the Kingdom’s Passport Department, warned Saudis against traveling to countries where trips are banned, adding that anyone who flouts rules would be held responsible. He, however, added that Al-Areefi would not be held responsible for expressing an intention to travel to Jerusalem.

Al-Areefi is also reported to have said he was not afraid of any “treachery from the Jews” as he has put his trust in God.
