According to a report in Wednesday’s Al-Watan newspaper, the principal of the school called the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) after girls began screaming about the boys in the courtyard.

Police and Haia agents responded to the call, but by then the boys had fled. However, a school security guard managed to note the license plate number of the vehicle the boys were using. They were arrested shortly afterward at an ATM machine.

Police said the boys were involved in other misdemeanor cases. Another girls school in the area had been vandalized with graffiti, including mobile phone numbers for the girls to call. The police linked the boys to that incident after one of them admitted they entered the school because one of them had thrown their shoes inside.
