- MADINAH: Inspectors of the Directorate of Medical and Pharmacy Licensing under the Health Affairs Department in Madinah discovered several violations in health facilities.
Inspectors have shuttered at least one dental clinic when they found unlicensed health practitioners working there.
Alauddin Mufti, director of the department, said the clinic was also violating rules on sterilizing equipment.
Mufti said a pharmacy was closed for selling medicines and baby food past their sell by date.
Health Affairs inspectors also suspended the activities of a private hospital in Yanbu for similar violations.
“The directorate will not condone violations in medical services and will punish any worker who has neglected or failed in his duties,” he said.
The department did not release the names of the clinic, hospital and pharmacy that were closed.
