Rokocoko scored tries in the 17th, 25th and 52nd minutes as the Blues beat the struggling Force by six tries to two.

All Blacks prop Tony Woodcock, scrumhalf Alby Mathewson and winger Rudi Wulf also scored tries for the Blues, who won their fifth of nine matches.

Flanker David Pocock scored a late try for the Perth-based Force, who were also awarded a penalty try in the final minute of play. James O'Connor kicked two conversions and a penalty.

The Force took the lead with an O'Connor penalty - at his second attempt - in the eighth minute.

Rokocoko's opening try, from two long, cut-out passes which offered him an overlap in the 17th minute, gave the Blues a 5-3 cushion and they never relinquished the lead.

"Joe's hungry and the real thing is the back three, they're organized," Blues coach Pat Lamb said of his wingers and fullback.

"They're working together and they're feeding off each other. Joe's working really well in the back three and each gives the other confidence." Rokocoko's second try in the 25th minute boosted the Blues to a 12-3 lead and Tony Woodcock's try in the 28th minute lifted Auckland to a 19-3 halftime advantage.

Mathewson split the Force defense six minutes after the break to score a try which gave the Blues a 24-3 lead and when Rokocoko scored his third try, the hosts were ahead 31-3.

Wulf's try increased the buffer to 35 points in the 67th minute before the Force rallied with a try and a penalty try in the last three minutes.

"We didn't start that well but in this competition it's all about how you finish," Blues captain Keven Mealamu said. "It's just important that you get the detail right and eventually we did that."
