“All of Jeddah’s shopping malls and supermarkets are required to withdraw this product from their shelves,” said Bashir Abu Najm, director of Jeddah municipality’s Licensing Department.

The ministry said it found Enterobacter sakazakii in some samples of the baby food. The bacteria has a high chance of causing death in infants who are infected by it.

Abu Najm said the municipality will be inspecting shops and will fine those which havebanned products on their shelves.
