- JEDDAH: The Labor Office in Jeddah has ordered a leading medical company to pay 244 of its employees arrears in salary and other allowances within a month.
Several doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other employees said they had not been paid for the last eight months. The majority of those affected are Filipinos, including 169 nurses and laboratory technicians.
They also include 60 doctors and medical consultants from Egypt, in addition to 13 employees from India and two laboratory technicians from Eritrea.
Mohammad Al-Howash, the lawyer representing the employees, said giving the company one month will not resolve the matter. “The owner of the medical firm has broken his promises several times before,” he said.
