This is not only because Arab News is an English language daily, but because it is the daily that has a strong presence in various spheres such as business, social, sports, art and political circles, particularly in our company where people of more than 40 nationalities work.

Of course, an English language newspaper is of great importance in a country where millions of non-Arabic speaking people work.

Moreover, Arab News has been serving as our ambassador to the outside world and has become a gravitation point for the international media, either to take its news and stories or to work with it and exchange ideas and expertise. Arab News has distinguished itself with its presentation of manifold cultures and customs to become a symbol of globalization.

Business and economic concerns aside, I am personally interested in the history of Muslims, especially their contributions to science, the arts and civilization.

I am very particular about reading this newspaper regularly because I see it as a window into that culture.
