In a statement made following Monday’s session of the council, Secretary-General Mohammed Al-Ghamdi said the council had reviewed the details of the report submitted by the council’s Human Resources Committee to the HRDF Annual Report for 2007 to 2008. The council felt that HRDF should devise a mechanism to monitor the movement of its beneficiaries even after they no longer receive allowances for training. In earlier discussions, the council stressed that the HRDF should concentrate on early school leavers since lack of skills would leave them permanently unemployed.

During the first quarter of this year, the HRDF released SR214,106,573 to organizations authorized to implement training and employment programs for young Saudis. The fund has closely monitored the smooth and speedy release of the allotted funds to concerned establishments.

On studying the report from the Cultural Affairs Committee of the King Abdul Aziz Foundation, council members suggested that sufficient funds be made available for research and scientific projects.
