Officials of the local port and Indonesian diplomatic mission, as well as businessmen and members of the community were among the invitees present.

Indonesia’s new Consul General Zakaria Anshar in his welcome address said the vessel had been sailing from Indonesia since March 2010 and had called many ports until it arrived at the port on Sunday, it’s fifth visit to Jeddah.

The visiting ship officials gave a courtesy call on high-ranking officials of the port and performed Umrah. They also were given a city tour.

The consul general referred to the excellent relations existing between the two countries and said there were strong bonds between the naval and port authorities of the two countries, and the maritime border forces as well.

“The two countries will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties on Saturday (May 1) and this augurs well for both countries to further strengthen the bonds,” he said.
