- WASHINGTON: The Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland have been removed from a US watch list that monitors theft of intellectual property.
US Trade Representative Ron Kirk says Washington still is concerned about Chinese policies that encourage locally developed products under a policy known as “indigenous innovation.” Kirk said Friday the three former Soviet bloc countries have taken significant steps to clamp down on piracy and counterfeiting.
He said China is welcome to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, but Beijing must maintain a level playing field in dealing with foreign companies.
