Displaying a maturity in his game that is far beyond his years, Mmoh took out his semifinal opponents one after the other to sustain an incredible run in the biggest tennis tournament in the Kingdom in terms of prize money and size and depth of the field.

Playing two matches in one day, the talented Mmoh on Tuesday defeated Mohammed  Otaibi 6-2, 6-1 in the 12-Under category where he plays Joshua Nahill, a 3-6, 6-4-6-4 winner over Hani Saghi, in the final. After a brief rest, he returned to the court and beat Mossad Al Azzam 6-0, 6-1 in the 16-Under where he faces Hussan Naamani in the final. Naami advanced with a 7-5, 6-3 triumph over Khalid Diamla.

Mmoh was not done yet. Wednesday, he whipped Sulaiman Al-Qasem 6-3, 6-4 in Class C only to find himself ranged against last year’s Class C champion, Filipino Jo Boado in the Class B semifinals. No problem, as Mmoh used the same deadly forehand to topple his rivals in a 6-2, 6-3 triumph that sealed a final against  Mohammad Mohteb who beat Bashar Nashef 4-6, 7-6, 6-4. In Class C final Mmoh is up against Nawaf Sultan who defeated Khaled Bahli 6-3, 6-2.

Mmoh’s game has improved a lot thanks mainly to tournaments he entered in France, the US and other countries in Europe.  Mmoh is 12 years and four months when the tournament started and still eligible for the 12-Under bracket as per the ATP rules.

Joey Samia, one of the top Filipino tennisters in Riyadh, created a stir when he upset Saudi No. 1 Fahad Al-Saad 6-2, 6-4 in the Class A singles semifinal.

In the final Samia faces Kingdom No. 2 Omar Thaqib, who advanced after Zaki Abdullah, 19,  was forced to default their match when his flight from Dammam was delayed.

It will be Filipino Cecilio Llavares against Abdulwahab Yossif in the Over 45 singles final. Llavares downed compatriot Kit Sagnit 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 and Yossif eliminated Ed Abiera 6-1, 6-2.
