Farid bin Ibrahim Shera, acting deputy minister for town planning, said the plan was prepared in line with the Five-Year Development Plan, National Construction Strategy and Rural Development Strategy.

“We prepared this plan after collecting necessary information and conducting a field survey of social and economic requirements, the state of roads and transport facilities and infrastructure,” Shera said.

He said the ministry used the available data to prepare the comprehensive development plan for the province, taking into account natural, social, economic and environmental factors.

“We have taken into consideration the projected increase in population and their distribution in various parts of the province, the general framework for the economic development plan and distribution of public services and infrastructure facilities,” Shera said.
