The 23-year-old prime suspect is said to have been a maladjusted drug addict. He has been charged with fatally stabbing his brother and father and seeking out his sisters — who had fled after hearing the dispute — before turning himself in peacefully to authorities.

Neighbors say the man frequently quarreled with his family members. The latest argument took place on Monday, which led to the son attacking his father and the father kicking the son out of the house.

The man then moved into a storage room adjacent to the property. After returning from a local hospital where he got treatment for light injuries sustained in the scuffle, the father attempted to reconcile with his son by inviting him to dinner, but the son refused.

Police said after midnight on Tuesday the son entered the house and stabbed his brother in his sleep, killing him. Police said the man was angry that his brother sided with the father in the dispute. He then attacked his father, first with a hammer and then with a knife.

The murder suspect then reportedly turned to his sisters' rooms, but the girls had fled the house. The man then called police and waited for their arrival.

The man was identified as a Customs official who is divorced with three children. According to a neighbor, another of the man's brothers is serving time in prison for a theft that occurred four months ago.

"With a hope of seeing him mend his ways, I once presented him a book on moral studies and good conduct but to no avail. The father should also be blamed for negligence and ignoring the children, eventually leading to such a tragedy," the neighbor told the newspaper.
