- JEDDAH: A woman in her 20s committed suicide in Jeddah’s Baghdadiah district on Wednesday.
- A passerby walking through the neighborhood found her body near a building and called the police immediately.
Police arrived at the scene and gathered evidence.
“The dead woman was in her late 20s and of an Arab nationality. There were no signs of violence or resistance on the victim’s body. Our investigations indicate that this was a suicide,” head of Jeddah police Col. Misfar Al-Juaid told Arab News on Thursday.
“Police is considering all possibilities. Only when the investigation is concluded will we determine the cause of death.”
This is the second suicide case in less than a week in the same district. A few days ago Arab News reported that a Bangladeshi national had tied himself to a bed and set himself on fire.
Col. Misfar Al-Juaid ruled out any connection between the two cases.
